And for its promotion, we need marketing tools. What are marketing tools? Such as social media tools.

Therefore, having the best tools for content creation and promotion can save you not only time but also money.

So, without wasting time let’s get straight to the list.

21 Best Tools For Content Marketing

Here are my favorite content marketing tools.

1- Buzzsumo

Buzzsumo is one of the best tools for content research.

Research is the first step to convert an idea of content marketing into a nice blog post.

That’s when Buzzsumo becomes very helpful.

Enter your keyword term on the search bar and a list of top-performing content opens up. Just like I entered chocolate shakes.

These are blog posts that were published by other bloggers in the same niche and are performing well based on the number of shares.

The table has a column of Pinterest and Facebook shares.

From this, you can have an idea of what type of content performs well on which social media platform.

Whenever I have a new idea, I make sure to check it on Buzzsumo to understand what type of blog post would work for it well.

2- Google Trends

Google Trends is a free content ideas tool to come up with trending ideas.

google trends

Once you enter a term you can see a graphical representation of the term throughout the year based on its search popularity.

The best part is that you can compare different terms to find the best option.

3- Answer The Public

Answer the public is one of the best free content planning tools.

Using this free tool you can find the most asked questions in a topic.

This tool helps in creating a blog post outline.

I use it to find out what questions my target audience is asking and then I create a blog post structure using the above method.

4- Moz

Moz is my first favorite free content marketing tool.

moz content marketing tool

Using the free Moz bar I can see important metrics like

  • Domain Authority of a site.
  • Keyword SEO difficulty.

Moz also offers other free tools like keyword research, link analysis, etc.

I use the free version of Moz that offers limited searches in a month however it comes with a premium plan with unlimited searches.

The premium version has more features making it one of the best SEO content generation tools.

5- Ubersuggest

Ubersuggest is my second favorite free content marketing tool.

Before using Ubersuggest, I was using Semrush, which is the best tool for SEOs but the problem was it was too expensive for me.

When I started using it, I had no idea how to utilize it to its fullest potential.

And that’s how I found Ubersuggest, a similar free tool for content marketing.

The tool allows you to use 3 free searches every day. Some of the features you can use are

  • Competitive Analysis
  • Keyword Research
  • Site Audit
  • Backlink Profile

If you want to use it without the limited searches then you can purchase its premium plans.

Here’s how I perform keyword research is Ubersuggest.

Google Drive is a free storage tool by Google. No doubt, Google Drive is one of the most popular content gathering tools.

You can use Google Drive to save and send data.

With every user registration, you get 15 GB of free space. However, if you want to then you can purchase more space.

But I have been using Google Drive for many years and I’ve never felt that I need to buy more space.

7- Google Docs

Google Docs is a free online writing tool.

I use Google Docs to write my blog posts, emails, and everything.

Using Google Docs is easy because it is connected with Google Drive so whatever you save in Google Docs is also saved in Google Drive.

It is one of the best content creation tools for beginners.

I also use Google Sheets to create keyword sheets for my blog posts.

It is amazing because it has some premade templates for different types. For example, product review, resume, and more.

8- Grammarly

Grammarly is a great proofreading tool.

Before publishing content online you would want to make sure that the content is error-free.

Of course, you want to publish perfect blog posts but humans make mistakes.

Although the free version is great for beginners, the premium Grammarly also helps in deciding the content tone and many other things.

I’ve recently started using Google optimize for a landing page that I’m creating.

It is not a content marketing tool but it helps in analyzing which form of content is performing better.

I love this app because it is really helpful in deciding. So, like me, if you like testing things Google Optimize is a great option.

12- Google Search Console

Google Search Console is used to find out how your website is performing particularly on search engines.

13- Ahrefs Site Audit

Ahrefs is a popular SEO tool. They have premium versions and allow a 7 day trial for $1.

However, the site audit by Ahrefs is free for everyone.

Some of the problems Ahrefs site audit report tells us are

  • Broken Javascript and more.

These errors indirectly impact your site’s SEO and limit its rankings on search engines.

It is great for nondesigners like me (Read my Canva Review here). Because of this tool, I can create beautiful blog graphics as well as social media posts easily (sometimes using the free templates.)

Plus, it has a great collection of images that you can use.

It is a free tool. However, to unlock more features you can purchase the premium version.

Also, Mailerlite allows 1000 subscribers for free. That’s why I love Mailerlite.

19- EMV Headline Analyser

EMV Headline Analyser as the name suggests is a headline analyzer.
