2 Things To Have To Make Money With Ads.

For this to happen, you should have these two things.

a girl smiing with a laptop

First, a blog, if you don’t have a blog or are looking to start one here is my 3 step guide to starting a WordPress blog on Bluehost in 5 minutes.

Now if you have a blog, the second important thing to have is blog traffic.

Your blog must have some traffic, otherwise, you won’t make any income.

In fact, most ad networks for blogs require minimum monthly blog traffic.

But this doesn’t mean you can’t apply for anyone. There are a few on the list that has no minimum requirements.

But if you want to grow blog traffic then check out this Blog traffic bundle by Angela.

So when you have enough traffic, here is the list of ad networks for bloggers you should try.

9 Best Blog Ad Networks For Beginners

1- Media.net

media.net ad network

Media.net is a popular blog ad network for bloggers who have been blogging for a while.

I love Media.net because they are very concerned about the type of ads they show on your site.

For instance, Conceptual ads (a type of ad) are displayed after judging the user intent of the query. So that your readers are not annoyed with irrelevant ads and popups.

Setting up your Media.net account is very easy. All you have to do is to sign up for free and submit the application.

They will review your application and when accepted you can customize your ads.

There are no minimum requirements for this ad network. However, having a functional website is recommended with proper legal pages.

Their minimum payout is $100.

Make sure you have read their guidelines

2- MediaVine

mediavine ad network

MediaVine is one of the best ad networks for bloggers who get more than 50,000 sessions every month.

A few months ago, the minimum requirements used to be 25,000 sessions but MediaVine doubled it because of a lot of application requests they were receiving.

And they have been rejecting a lot of applications too.

I know right now, it may not be a good option but when you have gained enough traffic (I’ll tell you a secret!) you can apply for this ad network.

Because their payouts are amazing

But if your site gets 50,000 sessions per month then you must apply for MediaVine.

MediaVine has clearly stated that your site must have good content. However, you need quality content for qualifying any other networks.

3- Google Adsense

google adsense

Google Adsense is a famous blog ad network monetizing more than 2 million sites.

As it is clear from the name, Google Adsense is under Google.

It is the best ad network for new bloggers, when I started monetizing the blog I also chose it.

But it slowed my site so I had to remove it.

How to monetize your blog with Adsense?

Once you submit your application and get accepted you can choose the auto-optimize ad options and Google will display ads relevant to your content.

This is what I love about it.

However, Google Adsense earnings are not that great when compared with other networks.

The minimum payout is $100 and you can apply with low traffic.

4- Propeller Ads

propeller ads for bloggers

Propeller Ads is the only advertiser for blogs that allows the minimum payout of $5.

Another great thing about them is that you can transfer funds from Propeller Ads to your bank account daily.

It is the best ad network for small publishers who want to make money by displaying ads only.

This way you can double your social media efforts and get traffic as well as money daily.

Propeller Ads doesn’t ask for minimum traffic to join however you must have a blog

5- Ezoic

ezoic

Ezoic is a good replacement for big names like MediaVine.

Because their pay is good and the minimum traffic requirements are only 10,000 monthly viewers. (They have also started accepting without any minimum requirements)

Ezoic is a beginner-friendly blog ad network with an easy-to-use dashboard.

Why it’s a good alternative to MediaVine is because you only require 10,000 viewers and that is 1/5th of what is asked in MediaVine.

I started monetizing with Ezoic and their income is triple of what I used to earn with Adsense.

So, if you wish to join MediaVine someday, Ezoic can work as a great income source till then.

6- Infolinks

infolinks ad network

Infolinks was the first ad network that I joined and moved to a different one quickly.

I switched from Infolinks because it was not showing ads that would match my target audience.

For example, my website was displaying chopping boards ads. And I don’t think it matches the content that I publish on my blog.

However, when I joined Infolinks I was very new and so I may have not known much about the settings.

And every website is different. So if you want you must check out Infolinks.

7- Monumetric

monumetric

Monumetric is just like Ezoic. It is great for bloggers who get 10,000 monthly views on their blogs.

However, a disadvantage of advertising your blog with Monumetric is that if your monthly traffic is less than 80,000 then you will have to pay a setup fee of $99.

In such cases, other ad networks are better who ask for no setup fee.

But the good side is that Monumetric gives big money because of its association with big advertising companies.

So if you want to give it a try it’s worth it.

8- Revenue Hits

revenue hits one of the best ad networks for bloggers

Revenue Hits is a partner of Propeller Ads.

However, it doesn’t work like any other network. Meaning, like other programs that pay for impressions and clicks, Revenue Hits pays their users only on a click and purchase.

That is, more like an affiliate system.

However, the plus side is that the pay is higher because the purchase is made.

Revenue Hits don’t ask for any minimum traffic requirements.

It currently has more than 20,000 users which means that it is not that popular but they also have a referral program so you can also earn by referring the ad network to your readers.

9- Ad Thrive

Ad thrive ad network for bloggers

Ad Thrive is a popular ad network like Monumetric, Ezoic, and MediaVine.

Joining Ad Thrive is a great choice as they promise to pay you even if the advertisers haven’t paid them.

Ad Thrive is one of those Google Certified Publishing Partners that would grow your blog revenue like miracles.

The only thing is that you must have at least 100,000 monthly blog traffic.

If not now, then in the future it can be a great opportunity.

How To Make Money By Displaying Ads? – The Process

So you know some of the best ad networks for bloggers but how do bloggers get paid? Like in real life?

There are two types of ads that work.

  • CPC/PPC Networks – is short for cost per click (pay per click) networks. The basic function is that you place an ad on your site so whenever a reader clicks on it you get paid.
  • CPM Networks – is for cost per 1000 impressions. Meaning, you will earn income every time the ad gets 1000 impressions.

It may be complicated years ago, but now almost every blog ad network has made it super simple.

Which Ad Network Is Best For You?

To decide which Ad network is best for you here are some points to consider while choosing one.

  • Your blog’s monthly traffic.
  • The Ad Network’s payout.
  • The type of ads they show on your website.
  • It must be easy to use and work.
  • Their payout options (PayPal, card, etc)
  • The ads must be customizable.

However, these are just some ideas. The best way to find out which one is for you is by trying them.

How To Grow Blog Traffic?

Here’s the secret I promised you above in the MediaVine section.

Many bloggers have fulfilled their dreams of joining the MediaVine program by completing the target of 50,000 sessions.

And it is because of Pinterest.

I highly recommend you try Carly’s Pinteresting Strategies that is all about how to use Pinterest after the biggest algorithm update.

9 BEST AD NETWORKS FOR BLOGGERS Click To Tweet

Monetizing your blog with ads is one of the easiest ways of earning income from it.

However, it is true that you won’t earn a lot from it. You will have to combine it with affiliate marketing and other monetization methods.

Having 2 or 3 streams of income is a great way to avoid risks.

And that’s why you should advertise your blog to earn a side income.

  1. There were only two networks on this list that I had previously heard of, so I appreciate you sharing all that you know. Right now, I don’t run ads on my blog (and haven’t for the past 6 years) aside from just my own affiliate sidebar ads, but maybe in the future this will be something that I dip my toes into.

  2. Very informational post Ekta! I personally only use Google Adsense, since I don’t want too many ads cluttering my blog. However, I’ve heard many good things about Media Vine so I’m working on bringing traffic to my blog. I’ll check out Media.net, but my main focus is traffic right now. Thank you for this post, when I first started out I had no idea how to approach ads. This guide will be very helpful to any newbie bloggers!

  3. I have toyed around with a few from your list Ekta. For me, Amazon seems to be the best fit for my blog and brand because I customize my Amazon ads more seamlessly. However, I did generate some clicks with Media.net before I barely embedded the thing on my sidebar. Definitely worth a second look.
